20 Questions
Happy Wednesday, friends! Long time no talk! You know how it is, when life gets busy, the blog takes a back seat (well that's how it is for me sometimes). Jane posted these "20 Questions" on her blog last week and I just had to play along, too :) So here it goes!
1. What brings you the greatest joy? There are A LOT of things that bring me joy. Our dog doing the silliest and cutest things is pretty high up on the list. So is getting to spend my life with Luke. Being so close with so many good friends. Having the best family. I like to see joy in many aspects in my life. I really can't narrow it down to just one thing... I try to find joy all around me.
2. What are your vices? Starbucks iced coffees, Pepridge Farm chocolate hazelnut pirouettes, watching the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills... And all at the same time :)
3. What is on your nightstand? A candle, an Eiffel Tower ring holder, a few bracelets, my glasses and my iPhone. Exciting stuff over here.
4. Do you have a secret talent? Heck yes I do! I'm a master parallel parker! I can fit my car in the tiniest of spots with ease. I always joke that I should put this skill on my resume, because I see SO MANY people around town doing it wrong (ah hem, pulling into a parallel parking spot head first...) and it's something that I have down.
5. What is your greatest indulgence? We just bought a brand-spankin' new car! I mean it's fully loaded with all the bells and whistles. It's a far cry from the hoopity I was cruising around in before. It's by far the nicest thing we own now.
6. What should every woman try at least once in her life? A "Me Day". A day where you do whatever you want and do it all for yourself. Take yourself out to brunch, to a movie, get a pedicure, go shopping, take a long bubble bath surrounded by candles and then watch some trashy TV in your pj's. Taking a day off to just treat yourself is something that we should all be doing!
7. What makes you laugh? What doesn't make me laugh. The dog makes me laugh like every minute. Luke makes me laugh just as much. And our friends! Every time I'm with my friends were always laughing.
8. What is one thing people would be surprised to know about you? I'm actually really shy and sometimes it takes me a long time to really feel comfortable around people. Getting out and meeting new people is always something that I wish came easier to me. Just give me time though :)
9. What is on your bucket list? Traveling the world, duh! A trip to Paris. A trip to Thailand. A trip anywhere in the world actually, I'd actually like to see most of it before I die.
10. What is on your feet right now? Boots. Little brown boots.
11. How did you make your first dollar? Probably from a Lisa & Frank sticker sale I had in my bedroom when I was a kid. I think I sold a sticker to my sister for a dime or two. Did anyone else set up little shops in their room to sell things to their siblings? Only me? Okay...
12. What superstition do you believe in? I don't believe in any.
13. What items in your closet do you wear the most? I have this stretchy pair of black pants, haha, that are beyond amazing. They are a cross between leggings and jeans. They are hands down the most comfortable and flattering thing in my closet. I only paid $20 for them and I am seriously kicking myself in the rear end for not buying 10 pairs of them!
14. What is the best gift you've ever received? Please forgive me for my cheesiness... but one of the best gifts I've ever received is my parents providing me with a sibling. I seriously don't know what I'd do without my sister. Growing up we didn't get along (at all!) but now we're best buddies and I wouldn't have it any other way!
15. What is on your liquor shelf? What isn't on our liquor shelf? :) We have a bar cart and right now there are about 15 bottles of wine, a few bottles of beer and some gin, whiskey and tequila.
16. What is on your kitchen counter? A toaster oven, a Keurig, a marble serving board, a block of knives, a bunch of random receipts and pieces of paper that we're in the process of organizing...
17. What would you never leave home without? My iPhone. Me and that thing are attached at the hip (er, I mean hand...).
18. What movie has the greatest ending? I don't know. I could name a lot of movies that have less than great ending though... Okay, I just thought of one! Silver Linings Playbook.The ending of that movie seriously put the biggest smile on my face :)
19. Who is on the guest list for your ideal dinner party? There's no question... JT and Jimmy Fallon.
20. What is one thing you wish you had known when you were younger? Do you own thing, don't go along with what everyone else thinks is cool, go with what you think is. It's good to be different.
