please excuse my absence...

There is probably gonna be a lack of blogging around here.
Luke & I can't seem to get over being sick
& it doesn't help that work is extra busy
& we have the big move into our new house
(that we're trying to do slowly, by ourselves)
Exhausting none the less
So of course I've been slacking in all other aspects of my life
If it isn't work, packing, moving, unpacking - I'm probably sleeping.
Hope to see you again soon, blog - say next week sometime?? :)

Pretty much sums up how I feel.

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!! :)

(more) from a quick Seattle weekend...

Wednesday, October 26, 2011

& here's more pictures from our short, yet sweet weekend in Seattle...
We wandered around outside of CenturyLink (ahhh I still call it Qwest!!) Field
& made some new friends on a street corner & drank our case of beer
(classy, I know).

OKAY, & these next photos are proof as to how awesome my camera is!
One of the reasons that I love my camera so much
is that it takes such awesome photos at night (without a flash!)
(taken with my Canon T1i & 50mm lens)

Isn't Seattle pretty at night??
I think so!
:)

a quick Seattle weekend

Monday, October 24, 2011

Over this past weekend, Luke & I went up north to see my parents. We took a ferry from Bremerton over to Seattle & proceeded to tailgate before the Beaver/Cougs game at CenturyLink (aka Qwest) Field. It was a much needed win for my struggling team & also a nice weekend break before we move into our new house (yes, we finally get to move in!)

I actually have A LOT more pics, but they're mostly all from the game & since I posted about my tailgating adventures last week, I thought it might be overkill on the orange! Plus, this was all I was able to get to because I stated getting sick last night (boo!).

When we were at the game we had an amazing view of the city & sunset from the stadium, so I'll share some of those pictures later this week! My camera takes amazing night shots :)

Happy Monday, everyone!

Need to keep reminding myself this...
Need to keep reminding myself this...

I've never been a patient person.
Ever.
I try, but I'm just not.
I want to see results instantaneously.

So let's just say that this home buying process
(or rather loan obtaining process)
is not something that I want to do again for a v-e-r-y l-o-n-g time.
I'll spare everyone the long, drawn out, boring details...
But in the meantime, let me know if you can lend me some patience,
because I sure can't find any right now...

some weekend snapshots

Monday, October 17, 2011

I hope you all had a great weekend! We spent the weekent not moving in to our new house. To make a long story short, someone at the bank decided to sit on our documents at the last minute because they were leaving the company (insert no sense of urgeny here) so we have no idea when we're going to move in now & no one is updating us :( It could be worse, but it's still not fun. Anyways, we made the most of our weekend & went down to Corvallis with our friends to tailgate at the Beaver game!

My Beaver outfit.
Our good friend Craig stopped by!
Our favorite girls, Kara & Katie!
Mid-day dance parties
ice-cold cheap beers
hot doggies
We didn't actually make it into the game, oops! But I did walk around & take a lot of pix :)
Corvallis always has the most beautiful trees this season, they were all shades of yellow, orange and red.
You know it's a good time when you're dancing on top of the car...
Whoops!

Making a statement

Thursday, October 13, 2011

Lately, I've been loving statement necklaces. (I *almost* bought one at Nordstrom Rack the other day but resisted because buying a house is scaring me into thinking that I need to save every last penny. sad? yes.) So, instead I've searched the interwebs high & low, looking for some pretty statement necklaces that I can admire from afar.

What do you think, would you wear a bold statement necklace like the ones below?

I think they're so much fun!
You can take a plain outfit & glam it up with just one piece of jewelry!
Hopefully soon I'll realize that I can still afford things
after I get all moved into the new house.
Then, hopefully one of these will be mine!!
:)

You can find these necklaces here:

day 6: flowers

Tuesday, October 11, 2011

okay, this is an easy one, right?
I thought it would be too predictable to take a picture of actual flowers...
& then my sister showed up in a cute floral shirt & I thought "hey, that might work..."

My sister came to visit over the weekend & left this morning - I miss her already...

day 5: something orange

Friday, October 7, 2011

For "something orange" I really wanted to take a picture
tailgating at a Beaver game this season.
But I have no immediate plans of going to a game right now
& in the interest of not dragging out my challenge
I'm sharing "something else that is orange"

This is the sunset from after my friend Aaron's wedding.
The sunsets in central Oregon are always beautiful - especially in wildfire season.
The smoke from the wildfires make the sky look ominous during the day
& absolutely gorgeous at night.

day 4: something that you miss

Wednesday, October 5, 2011

Day four of the photography challenge takes me to "something that you miss".
I was trying to think of something, but got stumped,
so I'm going with someone that I miss.
Here is my cousin Abby.
She just moved to Paris for a year (possibly longer) to work.
I'm sure going to miss her around Portland!

Here are some pix that we took at her going away party
(at my aunt & uncle's lovely condo in the Pearl)
