Hotel Le Marais

Friday, September 30, 2011

While browsing a Budget Travel magazine in the break room at work, I stumbeled across an article on the Hotel Le Marais in New Orleans. What drew me into this place was the stunning photos (& boy are they stunning!) & what further caught my attention was that you can book a room for around $110 a night. Pretty good deal for a super nice hotel in the French Quarter? I think so! I'll have to add this one to my (very long) list of places I need would love to travel to (again!!).

If you haven't seen it already,
It was very reasonably priced & also a stunner!
I just love staying at (nice looking) places for cheap!

Instagram Love

Wednesday, September 28, 2011

My favorite app (in the entire world) for my iPhone is the Instagram app. I love the photo effects & I love that you can follow other users & "like" & comment on their pictures, it makes for fun interaction :)

Did you know that there is so much more that you can do with your pictures?? You can print them, turn them into tiny stickers & also make them into books! Check out a few websites I found that allow you to do so much more with your Instagram photos!

Instagrid: Lets you view all of your photos in a grid.

BadgePlz: You can add a badge to the sidebar of your blog, to display all your Instagram photos.

Postagram: Lets you turn your instagram photos into postcards to send to your friends.

Instagoodies: You can turn your instagram photos into stickers! 90 stickers for $14.00.

Prinstagram: My favorite! You can turn your instagram photos into "mini prints" (a set of 48 for $12). You can turn your photos into mini stickers (252 stickers for $10 & a much better deal than Instagoodies)! You can also make mini books & tiny books with your photos for $10-$12! See some examples from Pinstagram below:

Being a tourist in my own city: II

Sunday, September 25, 2011

This weekend we decided to do some touristy things in our city, so when friends come to visit we can point them in the right direction when it comes to "must-see's" in the city, ya know!? ;) We rode the aerial tram (partly because we had a buy one, get one free coupon) but we're glad we did because the views were incredible. A good view of Portland never gets old because it's an absolutely gorgeous city :) I would definitely recommend this quick trip to anyone new coming into town!

Then we came across a U-Pick flower field on the waterfront
& I picked myself a bunch of dahlias for a few bucks :)

Seaside * Cannon Beach * Astoria

Thursday, September 22, 2011

I spent this past Monday & Tuesday on the Oregon Coast with my family. My dad was at a conference in Seaside with his fellow firefighter friends, attending arson investigation workshops & seminars. Sounds super fun, right?! So my mom, sister & I took advantage of his free  hotel accommodations & us girls spent a few days at the beach, too :) Since Seaside is right in-between Astoria & Cannon Beach, we decided to spend some time in each beach town. We walked on the beach, ate at Mo's, walked around all the cute shops, had yummy brunch & took in all the sights of the ocean. It was a perfect few days just for us girls :)
