Happy Friday

Friday, September 28, 2012

Tomorrow Luke & I will be participating in the Color Run. I'm so excited! :D I've been wanting to do a color run for a long time & here's my chance!

But first, we're going to attend a pre-race dinner tonight and meet the designers of the Chevy Spark (their first mini car in the U.S.)! What does that have to do with the race you ask?? This year Chevy is partnering with the Color Run and the Spark will be the official vehicle and pace car of the race through 2013. Kind of a fun little event to get everyone excited about the run tomorrow!

Have you even done a Color Run?

My Fall Nail Polish Picks

Tuesday, September 25, 2012

It's no big secret that I love me some nail polish. My nails are always painted & I could pretty much open my own nail salon with all the colors in my collection. I always love rounding up new shades at the start of each season, too. Here are some of my favorites for fall...

1. OPI - Dutch Tulips. I think that every collection needs a red (just my opinion). It's classic. Dutch Tulips is my all-time fav from OPI with just a little bit of added pink.
2. OPI - Every Month is Oktoberfest. I love the deep purple with lots of sparkle. This color looks different depending on your lighting conditions.
3. OPI - Berlin There, Done That. I'm currently wearing this color right now. It's the perfect muted grey that goes with almost every outfit I own.
4. Zoya - Petra. One of my favorites from Zoya. I love this dark, creamy & smoky look.
5. OPI - My Very First Knockwurst. I love this rosy nude shade - I imagine this going perfect with my cream colored scarf & matching knit hat :)

What are some of your favorite colors for fall? Please share! :)

Being a tourist in my own city

Thursday, September 20, 2012

A little while ago Luke, Gracie & I took a stroll on the Eastbank Esplanade. It was the perfect Portland day... clear skies, warm temperatures & with a little photo editing I managed to make the Willamette River look not so disgusting :) We first took Gracie on this walk earlier in the summer when we participated in the Doggie Dash - & I've since been wanting to return. We might have also been scouting out some locations for our engagement photos coming up next month :)

Fall Bucket List

Sunday, September 9, 2012

It's *almost* that time of year. That time of year when the leaves start changing colors & the air gets a little crisper. I'm in denial that summer is almost over, but I absolutely love fall, so it's not that bad :) Lately I've had my mind on all things fall. I've been thinking about these cinnamon rolls, this butternut squash soup & this pumpkin ravioli! I've also been thinking about fall fashion like my tall brown boots, cozy sweaters & this perfect fall outfit that I must re-create! Well, I thought it would be fun to put together a little list of fall things I'd like to do in the next few months, since I've had fall on my mind. What would be on your fall bucket list??

now this is my kind of bachelorette party

Friday, September 7, 2012

While I was doing my nightly internet perusing, I came across this inspiration shoot for a wine tasting bachelorette party. Being the wine lover that I am, I instantly fell in love with this idea! I must say, this is definitely more my style than a crazy night out on the town filled with fruity drinks & penis straws... (although I should never say never, that will probs end up happening, too).

And while my very own bachelorette party isn't for months and months... I love my group of girls & I'm confident that we'll all make it a night to remember - no matter what we end up doing! :)

Happy Campers

Tuesday, September 4, 2012

This past weekend Luke & I went camping on the McKenzie River at Olallie Campground. It was also Gracie's first camping trip! We bought our tent over a year ago & I'm ashamed to say that this is the first time that we've actually taken it camping. After this past weekend we definitely wish we would've gone more! Next summer we'll plan better & get some more trips in :)

Sniffin' around...
It's important to point out that I started this fire with only ONE match. It's even more important to point out that I started two more campfires this weekend, again only using ONE match. I'm kinda badass.
We had to pump that red thingy on the right to get water...

We stumbled across the "Waterfall Loop" trail. It was our best find of the weekend!
The trail winds along the McKenzie River & you almost always have a gorgeous view of the water.
It was pretty much the best hike, ever.
My two favorite photos of the entire trip.
(Note: there is a rainbow in each one.)
Happy Campers :)
Hiking is more fun when it's right by the river.
And everything is at your level...
Fiance :)
The second photo is me trying catch the river with a slow shutter speed.
Oregon has some awesome Ranger Stations!
Before...
...After!
I beat Luke at every game we played. I also accidentally threw my dice in my wine cup instead of the Yahtzee cup. Oops :)
This is what we went to sleep to & woke up to. It was perfect.
